Fantastic night at Saturdays mini meet. Lots of PB's and another new mini meet record from Harry Rider. Harry broke his own 25m freestyle record in a time of 15.88 winning a gold in the 8 year age group, he also took a bronze in the Individual Medley in a time of 1.39.35. Matthew and Katie Boardman achieved 6 personal best times between them costing their dad a fortune!!!!!!!! Well done to Joe Lewis and Elliot Buckley for PB's in the 200m IM. Francesca Cross had a fantastic weekend at the Manchester Open she swam a 200 backstroke time of 2.34.10 qualifying her for the National Championships. Another fantastic effort from all our swimmers at this weekends Mini Meets & Mini Meet Prep at Grand Central Pools in Stockport. Harry (the hazzard) Rider was once again flying in the boys 8 & under age group breaking his own 25m Freestyle Mini Meet record that he set in the previous round in a time of 16.84. Well done Harry. The Central Lancs Preliminary Gala was hosted at Bury over two weekends in Jan/Feb. Congratulations to all Droylsden swimmers who competed. The 11 year old girls Shield was won by Lauren Pettifer, Olivia Ryder & Francesca Cross. Lauren & Fran have both qualified to swim for Central Lancashire Association at the Inter Association Gala in May. Congratulations to everyone who competed in Saturdays Mini Meet at Grand Central Pools in Stockport. We had a lot of swimmers competing for the first time and everyone should be extremely proud of themselves. Lots of swimmers achieved Personal Best times. Special congratulations go to Harry Rider who broke the Mini Meet Record for 8 year old Boys 25m Freestyle. Congratulations to Ethan Cotton who won the Guess How Many Sweets Were In The Jar. Ethan had the closest guess to the amount of 200 sweets that were in there. On Thursday 14th October a team of swimmers from the club took part in the Central Lancashire Jubilee Gala at Copley Leisure Centre, Stalybridge. They were competing against teams from Stalybridge, Tyldesley and Ashton Central. We had a few swimmers competing for the first time and all swimmers performed really well. The final result was Stalybridge 122 points, Tyldesley 114 points, Droylsden 106 points and Ashton Central 57 points. Well done to everyone who took part and a massive THANK YOU ... The club closures are as follows:- Up to the end of July as normal 2 sessions per week for 2 hours per session. Tuesday 3rd August 6.30 to 7.30pm (1 hour only). We will combine 1st & 2nd hour swimmers in a 1 hour session. Friday 6th August 7.30pm to 8.30pm (1 hour only). We will combine 1st & 2nd hour swimmers in a 1 hour session.
